California DMV Hearings

San Bernardino County DMV Hearing Attorney

If your license is suspended, you may be able to get your driver’s license back…

Your License Can Be Suspended – Your Life Can Be Ruined!

Let’s be real here. Most adults cannot hold a job, support themselves or support their family if they loose their drivers license and can no longer legally drive a car!

Some traffic violations can result in suspension of your driver’s license, like DUI offenses, speeding tickets, reckless driving, fatal accidents, hit and run and some of the other misdemeanors. Also, when you violate routine traffic laws you are likely to put your California DMV driving privileges at risk.

In most states there is a point system. Here in the State of California our Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) does not operate under a so-called point system. However, there are penalties, including license suspension and revocation, for repeat speeding tickets or other violations.

A California driver will receive a 30-day license suspension for the following:

  • Four moving violations during a one-year period
  • Five moving violations during a two-year period

A California driver can have their license suspended, revoked, or canceled for:

  • Failure to appear in court
  • Pay a traffic ticket
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicants (DUI)

If you are facing a California State DMV hearing, or if you have the opportunity or arrange a California State DMV hearing to head off a license suspension or contest a prior license suspension, you have the right to have an attorney for the hearing and the attorney can present documents and even ask question from the arresting officer, if that is the case.

If your license is about to be suspended, we can make a case why it should not be. If your license is already suspended, you may be able to get your driver’s license back, or be placed on probation as an alternative. In some cases you might be able to get a restricted driver’s license which will enable you to have a “life,” keep your job and work toward getting your situation straightened out once and for all.
